Friends always ask us for a copy of our seed list for the garden each year. We usually oblige them by posting it with a For Goodness Sake newsletter in the hope it will inspire them in their own little outdoor corner of paradise. Most of the seeds we choose are organic and, when possible, heirlooms. Occasionally, we will purchase seed from a company that is not organic but is definitely non-GMO if that is the best we can do. We have an arrangement with Northern Dutchess Botanical Garden in Rhinebeck, New York (about half an hour’s drive from the Spiral House) to start many of our seeds for us. Consider grow lights for an early start indoors at your own property. There are lots of wonderful new LED models now.
